Dear Media Colleague,
You are cordially invited to participate in the international 2014 Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC 2014), to be held at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina, USA, from August 10 through 15, 2014. The Applied Superconductivity Conference, a biennial conference series, is the major international forum for scientists and engineers to present and discuss the latest research results, ideas and developments in every aspect of the science, technology and applications of superconductors. With the theme of “Race to Energy Efficiency,” the meeting will attract a broad spectrum of participants in research, technology development, and industrial manufacturing of superconductors (wire, magnets, etc.) and larger systems, as well as end users for a wide variety of applications.
Over 1700 scientists in the international high temperature- and low temperature superconductivity and supporting technologies communities will convene at this important meeting. Participants from U.S. and international universities, industry, national laboratories, and other government agencies will address recent progress in applications. Leading U.S. and international experts will discuss the latest status on products in the marketplace, and discuss critical issues of science, materials and devices. An exciting Exhibition will also be held to showcase the latest commercial products. Outreach events will also be available to the local community.
The organizers have made special arrangements for members of the media who would like to attend. After presenting your credentials, your conference fee will be waived, allowing you access to all technical sessions, special symposia, and the Exhibition. Tickets may be purchased for optional activities (free time tours, conference banquet, etc.) subject to availability. Please register using the form on the registration page.
Appropriate interview space will be provided at the conference upon request. We will also provide assistance in obtaining access to speakers for interviews. Additional information on the conference, technical program, exhibition, and special events is posted on this website. A media highlights sheet will be sent once the final program is available.
We hope you will be able to join us as we meet in Charlotte. Registration information and hotel reservations will be available on-line on March 31, 2014. Please check the conference website for updates.
