The highly acclaimed motion picture “Particle Fever,” which chronicles the development of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN through the announcement of the discovery of the Higgs boson last summer, will be shown at the 2014 Applied Superconductivity Conference on Monday, August 11 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 13 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom located at the Charlotte Convention Center. This film, which was produced and directed by theoretical physicists turned film makers, follows six scientists involved with the project from the initial operation of the LHC through the announcement of the discovery of the Higgs boson. The film has been highly received by film critics as “giving audience a front row seat to a significant and inspiring scientific breakthrough as it happened”.
