Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsoring a session or activity at the ASC helps promote your company, laboratory or university while helping to offset expenses including costs for junior scientists, students and colleagues who could not otherwise afford to attend. Your support will be recognized in various ways, as outlined in the following descriptions. Please feel free to contact us for more information!

Organizations and individuals will be recognized for their support and sponsorship of opportunities listed below, and will receive special designation on badges as Sponsors.









Each sponsorship/support will include the following: Sponsor/supporter name, logo and web link will appear on the ASC website, in conference related informational emails and on appropriate signage displayed during the conference.  Sponsors/supporters will be acknowledged in the ASC press advisory – release and in the conference transactions (selected peer reviewed papers published in a special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (TAS)).

General Support $500 – $10,000 + (multiple sponsors)

Your unrestricted contribution will provide critical general conference support for organizing and implementing ASC 2018, including logistics and scientist and student support.

Scientist & Student Support $500 – $10,000 + (multiple sponsors)

This important sponsorship provides support for scientists and students who could not otherwise afford to attend. The funds will not be used for food and beverage.
Initial sponsors include IEEE Council on Superconductivity.

Editorial & Publication Support $500 – $10,000 + (multiple sponsors)

Sponsorships help lessen the cost of publication of selected peer-reviewed conference manuscripts in the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity.
Initial sponsors include IEEE Council on Superconductivity.

Best Student Paper Contest Support $500 – $10,000 + (multiple sponsors)

ASC continues the Best Student Paper contest among young scientists. Before the Conference begins, six best extended abstracts in each category (Electronics, Materials and Large Scale) will be selected. Each selected contestant will make an oral presentation on Wednesday, 10/31/18, and compete for a prize. In addition, there are corporate-sponsored prizes for advances of science and technology in sponsor-specified areas. Multi-year sponsorship of the awards is encouraged.

Graduate Student Activities Program Support $500 – $2,000 + (multiple sponsors)

The GSAP provides special structured opportunities for student-led discussions and participation in outings with other student attendees and mentors. ASC will hold the Student Career Box Lunch Session on Wednesday, 10/31/18, with leading senior scientists and industry leaders on career opportunities. Support helps offset room and AV costs, refreshments and printed materials. ASC also continues to encourage interactions between the student attendees, senior scientists and industry leaders during the Pub Crawl on Wednesday, 10/31/18, to network and enjoy Seattle.  
Initial sponsors include Northrop Grumman and Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH).

Plenary Sessions $2,500 + (one exclusive sponsor per plenary)

Each sponsored Plenary Session will contain the name of the sponsor as part of the session title. The sponsor’s name, logo and web link will also be projected on the screen at the beginning of each plenary session and verbal acknowledgment will be given by the session moderator.

Roundtable Discussion (10/31/18) $2,500 + (multiple sponsors)

NEW to ASC 2018: The conference program will add an informal conversation, moderated by Joe Minervini (MIT), to its traditional plenary settings. Experts will describe the future of very high field HTS magnet applications as key-technologies for: Fusion, NMR, and accelerators for High Energy Physics. Panelists are Prof. Seungyong Hahn – Seoul National University (on leave from Florida State University and NHMFL), Dr. Tengming Shen – Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Dr. Zach Hartwig – MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. 

Special Sessions & Memorial Sessions $2,500 + (multiple sponsors)

Some Special Sessions have been formed to serve as major highlights of the conference in keeping with interests of the superconductivity community. Memorial Sessions will also be designated, whereby an oral session has been thematically structured in honor of the contributions of a departed colleague. Each sponsored session will contain the name of the sponsor in the session title. The sponsor’s name, logo and web link will also be projected on the screen at the beginning of the session, and verbal acknowledgment will be given by the session moderator. 

ASC 2018 recognizes that a thriving international network of professional communication is critical to ensuring rapid advancement in applications of superconductivity. Toward this end, ASC 2018 welcomes the opportunity to cooperate with other technical societies and organizations in co-sponsorships or endorsements of special sessions.

Wireless Internet Connectivity $2,500 (exclusive sponsorship)

The conference organizers intend for the full convention center space to be provided with continuous wireless Internet connectivity to support the app attendees may use to access the technical program. In our age of ubiquitous connectivity, such offering is indispensable in an engineering/scientific meeting such as ASC. Since not all cities have adopted such universal access, ASC will commission such connectivity and sponsorship will enable full access to all participants. When attendees sign in to the WiFi, the landing page will default to the sponsor website. The sponsor will be acknowledged at the beginning of the opening session. New! ASC’18 Joint Welcome & Exhibitor (10/29/18) $10,000 +(exclusive sponsorship, call for information)

The place to be on Monday, 10/29/18, is at the one sponsored event that attracts the largest number of attendees at one time who will come together to network at the convention center. The sponsor logo will be printed on the event admission ticket and/or drink ticket and sponsor will be acknowledged at the beginning of the reception, and additional methods of branding will be discussed.

ASC Evening at MoPOP: (11/01/18) $10,000 + (exclusive sponsorship, call for information)

An outstanding major event sponsorship is available as we conclude the ASC 2018 Conference at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)! Join us for a full evening of continuous food and beverage while exploring a myriad of unique and exciting collection of exhibitions in a-one-of-a-kind building. The sponsor logo will be printed on the event admission ticket and/or drink ticket and sponsor will be acknowledged at the beginning of the welcome reception.

ASC/CWsWiSE Diversity in Science & Engineering Event (10/30/2018) $500 – $2,000 + (multiple sponsors)

Since 2002, the Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC) has held a range of events at each conference including networking lunches, talks and workshops. The aim of the 2018 event is to explore hot topics on diversity that will enable further opportunities for networking, activities and engagement with mentors during the conference week. Five notable panelists will discuss current topics of diversity and inclusion, with time for Q&A.
Initial sponsors include Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Northrop Grumman.

Sponsored Coffee Breaks $500 – $1,000 + (multiple sponsors)

Branding opportunities are available for coffee breaks throughout the week. Your organization’s logo will be displayed on beverage tables. Additional branding items may be provided by the sponsor subject to approval. Sponsor will be acknowledged during the coffee break.
