Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of the Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) is to promote exploration, learning, outreach and the exchange of scientific and technical ideas, breakthroughs and accomplishments, and to provide an array of educational and interactive experiences and events. The Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) engages this vision on a variety of fronts, including the Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC), the flagship, international conference on applied superconductivity, and ELEVATE, our integrated thrust to promote educational opportunities, professional & leadership development, and outreach between our scientific community and society. The ASEF will continue to collaborate with the IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC) and partner with the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity through IEEE Xplore. The ASEF is a US 501 (c) 3 organization.

ASC 2026 Conference
On behalf of ASC 2026 Conference team, we are excited to invite you to join us at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the 2026 Applied Superconductivity Conference to be held in fall of 2026. Pittsburgh is a wonderful venue for our conference! The city is vibrant and offers numerous good restaurants, welcoming hotels and housing opportunities, and sights to explore.
The ASC 2026 Program Chair Timothy Haugan is preparing an excellent and exciting scientific program focused on the present and future of applied superconductivity and the numerous impacts our scientific endeavors can have on society at large.
In parallel, Anna Fox and Luisa Chiesa are leading our effort with the ELEVATE program offering opportunities for all participants for growth of both technical and professional skills. The ELEVATE program offers numerous opportunities for students and early career scientists to network and discover what a career in applied superconductivity might look like.
I hope to see you all at ASC 2026 in Pittsburgh!

ASC 2026 ELEVATE
Researchers in the field of Applied Superconductivity require a broad and adaptable set of technical and professional skills to advance both their individual careers and the field as a whole. While ASC is the premier gathering of scholars, innovators, and industry leaders, the Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation (ASEF) champions the continued growth of our community through the ELEVATE program.
ELEVATE offers a wide range of educational opportunities designed to enhance both technical expertise and professional skill sets. These include best practices in conducting research, reviewing scientific abstracts, delivering effective technical presentations, and skillfully moderating conference sessions.
Beyond the technical sphere, ELEVATE supports outreach activities that share the excitement and relevance of science with students and the public—both during our technical conferences and throughout the year—fostering awareness and interest in applied superconductivity among future generations.
Whether you are a student, an industry partner, or a seasoned researcher, the ELEVATE program strives to enrich your conference experience and strengthen your connection to the applied superconductivity community. Every activity is designed to support the advancement of the field—not only during our bi-annual conferences but in the everyday practice of science and engineering.
Applied Superconductivity Educational Foundation - ELEVATE

The ELEVATE program is designed to foster professional and leadership development, build meaningful connections between the scientific community and the public, and promote student engagement with both academia and industry. Through dynamic programs, collaborative networks, and practical resources, ELEVATE provides experiences that enable learning, technical advancement, career growth, and the development of future leaders in science and technology.
